Start with a 12″x18″ sheet of colored construction theme. Cut strips along the length of the paper, leaving a 3″-4″ uncut band of newspaper at the bottom. No need for the strips to be unsexed perfectly straight or all the same size – just wing it! This is great scissor practice.
Now, it's time to start embellishing the strips. We started by doing a few accordion folds, and curling both of our strips around pencils.
We also well-tried other types of folding, crumpling, muddle-punching, and cutting fringe. Your kids will come upbound with every last kinds of creative slipway to in love-up their hats! The more notional and silly, the better (in my opinion).
We added sticky foam shapes, taped on multicolored feathers, and inflamed with stripes of printed tape. You could color your strips with markers, use shaped punches, add googly eyes, or cover up with stickers. I recommend setting out a "buffet" of materials and letting your kids experiment and be creative.Possibilities are endless!
When your chapeau is processed, IT's time to size up and staple information technology. If it doesn't fit all the fashio around your child's headway (ours didn't), just impart a strip of paper to the back. Easy as that.
Directly you're prompt to titter at yourself in the mirror or parade around the house in your crazy hat. Maybe you should give yourself a Seussical name, excessively! Oh, and don't forget to make water one for your baby brother (or sis). Babies love Dr. Seuss, too! (Meet Henry – we're getting him started connected crafting at an early age! Isn't He the cutest?)
By the way, did you recognise Dr. Seuss was a hat gatherer? How fun! Understand more about his hat collection and see if the Hats Off to Dr. Seuss Art Exhibit is coming to a place hot you.
